MUSIC

 

This medium totally calls to me, yet it usually gets put at the bottom of the list, just because of the TIME factor.  My first artistic medium actually was guitar, and I studied it for 8 years, and became quite proficient.  I studied a bit of piano and Tablas for two years as well as Classical Indian Voice.

 

For the dances, I love making my own sound scores out of compiled elements, and I love collaborating with artists with my favorite adventure being a collaboration with Isa Topete.  A young women with a super ability to not have the language we have, but she communicates through sound and music.  

Her mother asked about collaborating, and after listening to some of her music, I proposed allowing me to go into a few of her songs and re-mixing them for a solo I was working on.  It worked out beautifully.

 

I am also a song writer, write poetry on rare occassion (I used to more), and little rap ditties seem to like to come out of me.

 

I would like to slow down in some other mediums and give music more focus!  Give myself a chance to grow in this arena.
