We discovered in the course of producing these festivals that this type of production was not sustainable given our resource level as an organization which operates administratively on 100% volunteer efforts. Additionally, we found scarce funding for support of this type of programming. There is a rich and deep archival layer of photos and videos that we have not yet fully processed.

 

In 2014 we innovated, shifted gears, and refined a style of producing that was collaborative with participating artists as well as sustainable. We did this with The HIVE and TURF projects which took place in Santa Barbara at Center Stage Theater and La Cumbre Jr. High, in Los Angeles at Pieter, and Brooklyn at Triskelion Arts.

An AMAZING adventure that taught us that truly, nothing is impossible, how rich and important it is to build bridges of multi-city, and cross-cultural exchange.

If we had a staff of 5 and a $150,000 a year budget, we'd have continued on!
