The Brown & Blue Series

A part of the journey of working in clay is discovering the plethora of possibilities when it comes to working with different clay bodies and glazes. I came across in my experiments the beauty of a brown clay body and a Jeffs Long Beach Blue glaze and worked in this constraint until I felt it ready to move on and seek another combination to play with for as many works as seem necessary to complete the discovery adventure.

These works are handcrafted, easefully, in my garden, often with the cat observing. Presently I like working with found textural fabrics, both items from ancestors as well as fabric art that has wound up in the second hand store.

It is a way of carrying forward the craftsmanship of the artist, who, is long gone and on to other things in other dimensions of time/space.

I like the notion the the impressions from their lace doilies and trimmings will extend their intention a bit more in this manifestation and fantasize burying them, or tucking them in a reef for a sea creature to discover and make a home out of.
